Target Audience
This activity is intended for neurologists, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners (NPs), physician associates (PAs), nurses, psychologists, social workers, pharmacists, and other members of the health care team caring for patients with multiple sclerosis (MS).
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Discuss the epidemiology and burden of depressive affective and anxiety disorders in people with MS
- Review tools and protocols for assessing depression and anxiety in the clinical setting
- Select appropriate pharmacologic and/or nonpharmacologic treatments for depression and anxiety in people with MS
- Examine strategies to effectively engage the interdisciplinary team in the assessment and monitoring of depression and anxiety in people living with MS

Interprofessional Continuing Education

Social Workers
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, the CMSC is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 1.0 general continuing education credits.
PA Continuing Medical Education
CMSC has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 1.0 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. Approval is valid until July 15, 2026. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.
All other health care professionals completing this course will be issued a statement of participation.
